Appropriately described as “a finance guy with operational experience,” Lou has a big-picture understanding of business that helps companies operate more efficiently and profitably. He recently served as Chief Financial Officer at Eastern Fisheries, Inc., an industry-leading, diversified manufacturing company headquartered in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He was part of a senior management team that helped grow the company from a local fishing and processing business to the world’s largest scallop company—with factories and distribution facilities in China and Europe and customers in every region globally.
As CFO, Lou played a key role in strategic planning, establishing financial controls for raw material sourcing, capital investments, and storage and distribution, as well as advising on outsourcing decisions, acquisitions, hiring and employee relations, and much more. He also spent a significant amount of time overseas at the company’s subsidiaries in China and the Netherlands to help start up manufacturing and distribution operations.
Prior to joining Eastern, Lou’s career has included positions at American Gem Seafoods, Toray Plastics of America and Universal Univis, where he gained valuable insight into the operations of large-scale manufacturing businesses in the food, plastics and consumer fashion industries.
An accountant by education and training, Lou’s core competency is understanding numbers. His recommendations are consistently grounded in solid financial data with a goal to improve your company’s performance and achieve your financial objectives. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions, typically becoming the go-to problem-solver for colleagues.
Lou graduated from Bryant University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He lives with his wife and two sons in Plymouth, MA.
